BRATISLAVA, May 13 (Xinhua) -- Canada grabbed their first three points at the ice hockey worlds after deconstructing Britain 8-0 on Sunday. Anthony Mantha finishes the Group A game with two goals and three assists.

Canada was set on bouncing back from their 3-1 loss against Finland in their opening game, and the squad of coach Alain Vigneault started strong. Mathieu Joseph nudged in the first goal without much effort in the third minute and Mantha stretched the lead to 2-0 after a perfect pass by Jared McCann.

The game turned into Canada's spectacle in the remaining periods with three goals ending up in GB's net in each one. Mantha added his second of the night late in the game and forced GB's goalie Ben Bowns to substitute. Canada's goaltender Carter Hart finished the lopsided clash with a clean sheet and 12 saves.

Canada will face hosts Slovakia on Monday, while Britain will enjoy a day's rest and try to gain some points against Denmark on Tuesday.
