TOKYO, April 24 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar changed hands in the upper 108 yen zone in early deals in Tokyo on Tuesday, largely in line with its levels in New York overnight.

As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 108.73-78 yen compared with 108.65-75 yen in New York and 107.90-92 yen at 5 p.m. on Monday in Tokyo.

The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.2211-2212 dollars and 132.81-82 yen against 1.2204-2214 dollars and 132.65-75 yen in New York and 1.2264-2265 dollars and 132.33-37 yen in late Monday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
