Can roses bloom in the desert? 

Near the edge of the Taklamakan Desert in northwest China's Xinjiang, Gen-Z grower Elijian has successfully planted 50 mu (3.33 hectares) of roses. 

By turning shifting sands into blooming fields, he not only helps combat desertification but also creates new opportunities for income and development.■
